Countryside cottage project

Before.

After.

From plain to colorful.

It began with a simple idea to bring color to the mostly all-white home by using a variety of shrubs and flowers. But first, we had to address the exposed concrete foundation. Deciding to cover it with cost effective wood gave the home a coastal cottage vibe yet helped stick to their budget.

Soonafter, the addition of a curved concrete pad in front of the garage and porch immediately softened the look of the home. All these changes increased the home’s value and created a more cheerful appeal.

Then the real fun began…choosing plants for that cottage feel. We decided to use hydrangeas in the shaded areas and wildflowers for the full-sun, front flower beds. Since they loved magnolia trees, we incorpated several throughout the gardens. A simple rock border helped define the area and created a finished look.
