Our Top 3 Low Maintenance Plants.
If you are looking for easy plants, that are beautiful yet won’t require you to water them 24/7, then you will love these! Get excited, because we have discovered the BEST plants around and have tested them ourselves. Read to find the top three winners.
Let’s kick it off with these beautiful Echinicea flowers commonly called cone flowers. These particular ones pictured above are rainbow colored. Meaning they can produce slight variations of peach, orange, and pink in one plant! Despite how pretty they are, they are super low maintenance.
Loving full sun and being drought tolerant make them an excellent choice for a spot that you can’t reach with the water hose or a steep clay hill.
Limelight Hydrangeas
On to our next plant on the easy list is limelight hydrangeas. If you want a flowering bush that produces month after month for most of summer and fall, then you need these. They thrive in sun and shade. Rain water should suffice them with their low water requirements.
Even better, their flowers will change from green to white to pink to dark mauve. So your yard never looks colorless with these in it. Since they grow to be 6-8 feet tall, deer may try to nibble on the lower stems but won’t be able to reach your flowers. Win, win.
What’s our number 3 choice?
Stoke’s Aster
Our last favorite flower that offers a pop of color and looks good anywhere is Stoke’s Aster or Stokesia laevis. This adorable plant loves sunshine and will handle drought or rainy weather just fine.
It is the kind of plant you want since deer absolutely hate it. Making a great addition to a flower bed or border, this aster will bloom for summer and fall. Half the year, your yard will look brighter with this addition in it.
We know gardening can be time consuming, but if you make the right decision, it doesn’t have to be! That is why we love figuring out what to plant for individual properties so that everyone’s yard can be beautiful even if it is LOW MAINTENANCE :)
